Saw this on the SVRN / NEAR official accounts: publicly traded SVRN acquired FastNEAR—the RPC, archival, and NEARDATA infrastructure layer behind NEAR wallets, explorers, and apps.

The key details: According to the company’s website, FastNEAR typically handles over 3.5 billion requests and serves over 100 TB of data per month. Co-founders Evgeny Kuzyakov and Mike Purvis are joining the team, making FastNEAR SVRN’s first operating business outside its treasury. Service for existing customers will continue uninterrupted, with further investment planned to boost reliability and capacity. The deal value was not disclosed.

Accumulating tokens is just a passive bet. Buying the data layer the network depends on and running it as an operating business—with a public company’s permanent capital funding infrastructure—is still a pretty unusual approach in the public-chain space.
