Can someone figure out your private key from the address you give them to receive payments?
My understanding: No institution can reset your private key for you. The blockchain only recognizes valid signatures, and anyone who has your private key can use the assets associated with that address.
Bitcoin and Ethereum private keys are both essentially 256-bit random numbers, and both use the secp256k1 elliptic curve.
What I do: After copying an address, I check the first few characters, the last few, and a few in the middle—not just the beginning and end.
Back to the market: $BTC is currently at 82706.84 (24h +0.5%).
