What is address poisoning, and why does it fool people?
Some wallets and block explorers flag suspicious zero-value transfers or hide them entirely.
Some token contracts allow transfers of 0, which attackers can exploit to create a record that looks like a transfer “from your address”—making it seem as if you sent the funds yourself.
The most important thing to remember when managing your funds: verify the full address before making a payment. Don’t just check the beginning and end; make sure the middle digits match too.
