Why does everyone discuss the Bitcoin halving roughly every four years?
Bitcoin adjusts mining difficulty every 2016 blocks to keep the average block time at around 10 minutes.
When thinking about the halving, distinguish between “fewer new coins” and “how the price moves”—they’re not the same thing.
$BTC ’s issuance schedule is hard-coded into the protocol; no institution can arbitrarily increase the supply. Current price: 82706.84.
