Before looking at capital flows, first understand open interest.
Open interest value equals the number of coins in open positions multiplied by the price, so it increases when the price rises. Only the coin-denominated figure can show whether new positions have actually been opened.
Rapid short-term changes in open interest mean someone is opening or closing positions in size, and volatility often increases as a result.
Keep more margin for futures positions so a single wick doesn’t knock you out.
