I stared at this MAGIC candle for ten minutes without saying a word.

It was still hovering around 0.06 this morning, then one straight shot at noon took it to 0.163—a 130% move in 24 hours. The wildest part? I checked the funding rate: after a pump like that, it was actually negative, at -0.003%. Those in the know have probably caught on: this wasn’t bulls aggressively pushing the price up. Shorts were getting liquidated left and right, and that’s what forced this move.

The data gets even more interesting. The large-trader accounts long/short ratio is 0.55, with 64% of large-trader accounts short. Retail is even more extreme: 62% of accounts are short too. But look at open interest the other way around: the large-trader long/short ratio is 1.15—real money is actually positioned long. In plain English: a pile of small accounts crowded into shorts, only to get steamrolled by a few big positions. Every tick up sweeps another batch of shorts out of the market. The order book is even crazier: 83% of orders are on the buy side. Sentiment is practically welded to the ceiling.

My take is simple: in a short squeeze like this, chasing longs at the current price is just handing the exchange fees; flipping short is like licking a knife’s edge. If you really can’t resist trading, wait for a pullback into the 0.11–0.12 volume-weighted average price zone and reassess. Keep your stop-loss tight. That long upper wick at the previous high of 0.163 says it all—there’s plenty of selling pressure overhead.

At this point, I’m pulling up a little chair and watching the show. If you’re holding, move your stop-loss up. If you’re not, don’t FOMO in.

What about you guys? Riding on top of the train or stuck underneath it? Check in in the comments.
