How could a public blockchain’s consensus protocol be published in a paper before any code was written?
First, what it is: Cardano uses a proof-of-stake protocol called Ouroboros. The related paper was published at the CRYPTO conference in 2017.
The idea: Cardano’s key protocols are usually first written up in papers and peer-reviewed, then implemented in code.
$ADA is Cardano’s native coin, named after mathematician Ada Lovelace. Its current price is 0.2508.
If you don’t understand something, avoid taking a large position in it for now. Try it out with a small amount first.

Just my personal opinion—don’t take it too seriously.
