Netflix is making a series about the FTX exchange, titled “The Altruists.” “Effective altruism” (EA) is the philosophical label most closely associated with its founder, SBF. He claimed he entered the crypto industry to “make a lot of money and then give it away.” It was his extreme devotion to this philosophy that made him lose respect for the laws in force.
CZ will of course appear in the series, but he doesn’t seem too pleased. On X, he said, “I’m sure this will be a negative portrayal of me.” Thinking about it, that’s actually pretty intriguing 😅
I wonder if $FTT might rise a bit more if the series becomes a big hit. After all, it pumps every time there’s a rumor that SBF might be released on bail.
