$MAGIC is showing some interesting activity on the 15-minute timeframe.

Price fell 1.39%, but OI rose 3% over the same period—and jumped 12.4% on the one-hour timeframe, adding 5.1 million U in notional value. Price down, OI up: a classic sign of shorts adding leverage. This isn’t a liquidation-driven sell-off; it’s fresh short positions entering.

Trading volume was 1.92 times the usual level, with 290 million U in 24-hour turnover. Its notional change in the pool ranked in the top 30. Net taker flow was -2.8%, and the buy/sell ratio was 0.95. Selling pressure is in control, but there’s no extreme imbalance.

Shorts are building positions at the 73.6th percentile, with the asset ranking 52nd for anomalies across the entire pool. Liquidity is sufficient. The question is: are the shorts at this level smart money or a crowded trade? If the price doesn’t break down further, the buildup in OI could easily become fuel for a move in the opposite direction.

For now, keep an eye on it and see whether these leveraged shorts keep adding or start to hesitate.
