Fees are calculated based on notional value. The higher the leverage, the larger the fees for opening and closing a position as a percentage of your margin. For example, if the fee is 0.05% each way, the combined fees at 10x leverage are about 1% of your margin.
Don’t switch a stop-loss order to a limit order just to save on fees. In a sharply moving market, the losses from an order not getting filled could be much greater.
