Over the past hour, Binance futures saw $3.02 million in liquidations: $2.29 million in long positions (75.8%) and $731,000 in short positions.
After liquidations, I usually look at three things:
① Who got washed out: mostly longs—long leverage was flushed out;
② The largest liquidation was at $ETH ($672,000); its subsequent price swings are often the most violent;
③ Did open interest fall as well? A drop means leverage has indeed been flushed out; if it hasn’t, new leveraged positions are entering.
Liquidation clusters usually become focal points in the battle between bulls and bears.
