₿ 6.26 million BTC under potential quantum risk?

According to data shared with reference to Glassnode, around 6.26 million $BTC (31.2% of the supply) are associated with public keys visible on the blockchain.

🔐 Why does this matter?
An address is needed to receive $BTC , a public key is used for cryptographic verification, and a private key allows you to sign transactions and control funds.

Future quantum computers could theoretically threaten some of Bitcoin’s cryptographic protection. This does not mean the network has already been hacked.

🛡 What can you do now?

✅ Don’t reuse addresses unnecessarily. Use a new address for every $BTC you receive, if your wallet supports it. This reduces repeated exposure of keys, but does not eliminate all risks.

✅ Protect your seed phrase. Store it offline in a secure place. Don’t send it in messaging apps or share it with anyone.

✅ Keep your wallet updated and follow its developers’ official guidance on quantum security.

✅ Don’t transfer funds in a panic. Moving to a new address does not in itself guarantee quantum protection—the address type and cryptographic mechanism matter.
