Traditional banks are starting to “open bank accounts” for AI agents. HSBC and Ant Digital Technologies announced that they have jointly completed a technical proof-of-concept test: AI agents autonomously discovered and called digital services, then used tokenized bank deposits to make small payments. The test combined HSBC’s tokenized deposit service, Ant’s Anvita Flow network, and the Jovay testnet. Transactions settled on-chain in real time, with real-time risk checks.
