Everyone, be careful when connecting to free Wi-Fi.
Lost 3.71 $BNB —about $2.8k—after connecting to free Wi-Fi at an airport in Singapore.
Under the post saying people shouldn’t use public Wi-Fi @CZ , someone pointed out that simply connecting wouldn’t make you lose money; there may have been another action that allowed access to a wallet or computer, for example.
A lot of crypto folks are in Singapore for Token2049. The other day, someone got hacked for $4M, and the cause is still unclear. Yesterday, this person got hacked and lost 3.7 BNB after using the airport Wi-Fi.
When you’re out, stick to 4G or 5G to be safe, everyone. There have already been plenty of warnings about using public Wi-Fi.
