$ZEC To the guys who went long at 1450 and got stuck: now you’re stranded at the top. How do you get out?
Don’t panic—Old Zhang has three ways out for you!
Why it crashed: Grayscale’s ZCSH spot ETF saw net outflows of $93.56 million in a single week, with assets shrinking from $980 million to $751 million as institutions pulled out. North Korean hackers are suspected of using Zcash’s privacy pool to move stolen funds; 2,746 ZEC were flagged by ZachXBT, dealing a blow to the compliance narrative.
Outflows combined with leveraged longs getting liquidated sent ZEC tumbling from 1,698 to 1,112. The 1,450–1,500 range has become a graveyard for longs. Big player 666 is sitting on $1.5 million in unrealized profits from a short position and hasn’t closed it; the current price is around 1,220.
Old Zhang’s plan to get unstuck:
1. Reduce your position on a rebound to stay alive. If it bounces to 1,250–1,270, decisively cut half your position. Survive first!
2. Hedge by locking in your position. Leave your long open and open an equal-sized short at resistance. Use the short’s profits to offset losses on the long.
3. Lower your average entry with a small position. Add a little only if volume contracts and the price stabilizes around 1,150–1,180. If the lower average helps you break even on a rebound, get out.
Note: Expect continued volatility until the NU7 upgrade on November 5.
Everyone’s position is different, so there’s no one-size-fits-all solution.

The market has no sympathy for those relying on luck; it rewards only those who take action.
