Odaily Planet Daily reports: Bitcoin News posted on X that company records for CryptoBilis, a Malaysian hardware wallet distributor, show that as of August 3, an individual named Jiaming, whose registered address is in Heilongjiang Province, China, held 100% of the company’s shares. A former co-founder of the company confirmed that CryptoBilis was acquired in March, and that the previous owner stepped down from all operational, management, and administrative roles. The founder has been unable to learn about the company’s operations since the handover, but continues to assist with event coordination. The news emerged during an investigation into a suspected supply chain attack involving Ledger hardware wallets. The affected devices were implanted with hidden components that could steal recovery phrases. There is currently no conclusive evidence that the change in CryptoBilis’s ownership is related to the compromise of the wallets in question.
