đ¨ CRYPTO IS GETTING A SEAT AT THE SECâS COMPLIANCE TABLE.
According to Phemex News, the SEC has added a dedicated crypto asset session to its November 19 National Compliance Outreach Seminar for investment companies and advisers.
Taylor Lindman, chief counsel of the SECâs Crypto Task Force, will join staff from the Division of Examinations and the Division of Investment Management.
The seminar will be online, with no advance registration required.
Why does this matter?
When investment professionals manage digital assets, understanding the rules becomes part of the job. A dedicated session gives them an opportunity to hear directly from the people responsible for regulatory guidance and examinations.
My take: institutional adoption needs more than capital. It also needs clearer expectations around how firms operate and meet their obligations.
This seminar could help with that process. But the announcement alone does not establish new rules, approve new crypto products, or guarantee a market rally.
For traders, keep the signal in perspective: another step toward crypto becoming a routine part of the investment industryâs compliance agenda.
Would clearer SEC guidance encourage more institutions to enter crypto or will they wait for broader regulatory certainty?
