Arthur Hayes is up to his usual tricks again. He says the bull market has already started—not on hype, but against a backdrop of fear.

And you know what? There’s something to what he says. He points out that before every major rally, the market first went through a wave of anxiety. In 2017, everyone argued about block size. In 2020, it was the pandemic. In 2023, the FTX collapse and interest rates. And now, in 2026, everyone is worried about the threat AI poses to cryptography.

Hayes believes money printing isn’t going away. Which means asset prices will keep rising.

I’m not a fan of Hayes, but he’s right about one thing: fear isn’t always a signal to sell. Sometimes it’s just fear. And if money is being printed, it has to go somewhere. The only question is—into crypto, or elsewhere.
