Large market orders may fill across multiple price levels in the order book, so the final average execution price may differ from the price you saw when placing the order. This is called slippage.
The thinner the order book and the larger the order, the greater the slippage a market order typically incurs. This discrepancy is generally much smaller for popular trading pairs with high activity.
