SoftBank Group CEO Masayoshi Son is seeking to raise up to $100 billion from Gulf investors for a new AI investment, the Financial Times reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

Son recently held talks with senior figures in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and elsewhere. The money raised is expected to be used to establish a corporate buyout fund.

The fund will improve the operations of companies it acquires using advanced technologies such as AI. SoftBank recently completed an additional $30 billion investment in OpenAI.
