According to CNBC, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said the league wants access to prediction market data to help regulate the market and detect insider trading. Speaking in a "Squawk Box" interview with Contessa Brewer, Silver said prediction markets and sports betting raise the same integrity issues for leagues, and he called contracts tied to events such as whether a coach may be fired "odd behavior." He also backed a 21-year-old minimum age for traders and said the NBA would prefer federal oversight of prediction market platforms because it operates under roughly 40 different jurisdictions.
