Urgent: rumors of an $86 million Ledger hack 🚨
There are reports circulating online that $86,000,000 in crypto was allegedly drained from Ledger hardware wallets.
So far, there has been no official confirmation from the Ledger team, so let’s not panic just yet. But if you use hardware wallets, here are a few basics worth keeping in mind right now:
A cold wallet is not 100% protection against human error. Typically, these kinds of “hardware wallet hacks” turn out to involve signing malicious transactions or phishing—not a breach of the chip itself or the seed phrase.
Check your connections. Go to Revoke.cash (or similar services) and revoke any suspicious DApp approvals you previously signed.
Never enter your seed phrase on websites or in apps, even if they look “official.”
We’re keeping an eye on things and waiting for an official announcement. Has anyone checked their balances yet? What do you think—phishing or a real vulnerability?
