Thailand just created a local BTC/ETH ETF framework
but I wouldn’t call this a new demand story yet
the rules take effect on October 16 and initially cover only Bitcoin and Ethereum
the ETFs must be passive, trade on the Stock Exchange of Thailand and maintain at least 80% net exposure to a single crypto asset
the more interesting part is distribution
Thai mutual and private funds can now invest in locally listed crypto ETFs, while retail gets a regulated onshore wrapper through the stock exchange
that expands access
But right now:
there is no announced fund
no seed AUM
no inflow
so I’m not treating the regulation itself as $BTC or $ETH buying pressure
the first thing I want to see is an asset manager actually file a product
after that, the number that matters is:
seed AUM + first-week net flow
regulation opened the door
capital still has to walk through it
