Kalshi data show traders assign a 75% probability that the number of AI data centers planned or already operating worldwide will exceed 5,100 before 2027, up from 60% two weeks ago. According to Odaily, the prediction contract will be verified by Data Center Map.

Data Center Map says the U.S. currently has more than 4,700 data centers that are operating or planned, with Virginia leading at more than 670 sites. Texas has more than 537, and California has more than 200. The expansion of AI data centers has also drawn opposition in some communities, where residents worry the projects could raise local power costs and increase water use.
