Just broke at 19:30! BTC surged $490 in an hour, and shorts across multiple exchanges got wiped out
Don’t be fooled by the fact that prices haven’t surged much tonight—the shorts are already hurting 😱
From 19:32 to 19:39, liquidation monitors on four exchanges all sounded the alarm in Newsliquid’s live feed—
1️⃣ Liquidation alerts flooded in across multiple exchanges
OKX, Binance, Bybit, and Hyperliquid fired off more than a dozen liquidation alerts for $BTC contracts. ETH and SOL were also getting swept up. This wasn’t a coincidence—the shorts were all forced out at the same price level.
2️⃣ BTC gained $490 in one hour
Kraken’s live hourly chart: opened at 82,482 at 19:00 → reached a high of 82,972. This morning’s low was still 80,672 (according to this morning’s community post), so this rebound is already up 2.8%.
3️⃣ But it’s only up 1.46% over 24 hours
Current price: 82,912 (latest Kraken check); 24-hour average: 81,717. The numbers look mild, but shorts over the past two days have been squeezed hard.
Bottom line:
This is a classic “short-squeeze recovery”: no major news, no big buying—just short stop-losses pushing the price up. A genuine reversal would require spot capital to come in, but this morning’s SoSoValue data still showed $244 million in net outflows from BTC spot ETFs in a single day.
So: the rebound is tradable, but don’t mistake it for a reversal ⚠️
Which side are you on?
A. The short squeeze isn’t over—BTC can squeeze higher, up to 84,000
B. A low-volume rebound—sell when it hits the target
