$SOL Tonight around 23:00 Beijing time, the block time is set to be cut from 250 ms to 200 ms, while the token price is languishing in the oversold zone, with the 4-hour RSI at 21 ⚡

Data (Binance Spot, 10-09 19:22): SOL is trading at 109.91 USDT, down 3.15% over 24 hours, with a trading volume of 375 million USDT. It’s down about 7.1% over 7 days, and the daily RSI is 22.5.

According to CoinDesk, this is the final step in a four-stage speed-up from 400 to 200 ms that began in August. It goes live in Epoch 1053, increasing block production opportunities from 2.5 to 5 per second.

But note: the per-block compute limit is also being lowered from 37.5 million to 30 million CU, so theoretical total throughput remains essentially unchanged. What really changes is that validators’ window for ordering transactions shrinks from 1.6 seconds to 0.8 seconds, compressing arbitrage opportunities; the trade-off is that voting costs double. The 250 ms target has actually averaged around 266–269 ms. Whether 200 ms can run reliably remains to be seen tonight.

The scenario: If SOL holds above the MA50 at around 108.3, it could rebound toward the MA20 at around 117.9. If it breaks below the 7-day low of 105.7, the oversold recovery thesis is invalidated.

Is the upgrade a technical boost—or has it already been priced in?
