A must-read for beginners: Learn one term today—Gas.
Think of it as the computational fee for on-chain operations. It’s not a tip for the recipient, and it isn’t a fixed, uniform price. The busier the network and the more complex the operation, the higher the fee may be.
On networks like Ethereum, Gas may still be consumed if a transaction fails after being submitted on-chain. But not all failures incur a fee—a transaction rejected before it’s broadcast is different.
When transferring tokens, your wallet often needs to keep some of the network’s native coin to pay the fee. Don’t transfer your entire balance, or your next transaction might get stuck.
Did fees ever leave you confused on your first transfer?
