Binance Alpha delisted a batch of tokens today: SUP, CUDIS, PYTHIA, BLUM, KIN, DN, GAIA, STRIKE, CDL, KO, VRA, EPT, SLX, and CAI—a total of 14. The reason given was “not meeting Alpha standards.”
First, what is Alpha? It’s a showcase for early-stage projects in Binance Wallet—basically a “minor league.” The market tends to assume that projects listed on Alpha have a chance of graduating to spot trading. Once they’re removed from the list, that expectation disappears.
A few of these 14 might look familiar: BLUM, the mini-game that was all the rage on Telegram for a while, never really bounced back after the hype died down; and VRA (Verasity), an old project from 2017 that’s managed to survive until now.
My take: being removed from Alpha is genuinely bearish for the price—the token loses one of its biggest narrative drivers, and liquidity will likely drop too. If you’re holding any, don’t wait around; sell while there are still buyers. As for buying the dip? Not many tokens removed from Alpha make it back.
