$XAU UBS identifies the gold price level that will attract buyers on a dip

Gold may retest support at $4,000.00 an ounce in the near term, according to UBS. The bank expects structural buyers to establish a firm floor under prices on dips, as rising real yields and a stronger dollar increase the opportunity cost of holding the non-yielding precious metal.

“Near-term headwinds persist: elevated U.S. real yields and a strong dollar could push gold back toward $4,000.00 an ounce,” UBS strategist Giovanni Staunovo said in a research note. Spot gold was trading at $4,191.00 on Friday at the time of writing.
