Just this morning, I said I could finally sleep after reducing my position. But seeing the margin ratio at 0.58% made me nervous again, and now I want to reduce my position one more time! This really is the fate of a contract gambler.
Position update:
$BCH: Full position, 10x leverage. Entry price: 261.02; mark price: 308.23; unrealized profit: +840.85U; ROI: +153.16%. The profits are still substantial, but the position size has fallen to 5,489.89U, with 548.99U in margin.
SOL: Full position, 20x leverage. Entry price: 115.63; mark price: 117.69; unrealized profit: +223.35U; ROI: +35.18%. The trend is relatively stable, and the position is worth 12,699.83U.
$ETH: Full position, 5x leverage. A small loss of -18.66U (-4.26%). I've given up on it completely and am ignoring it.
The combined unrealized profit on all three positions is over 1,000U, which looks great. But after I closed half of my BCH position and withdrew the funds, the overall margin ratio in full-position mode stubbornly stayed at 0.58%! It's exactly the same as when I was fully loaded. So I took the money out, but the remaining position is still exposed. If the market dips even a little, that 1,000U profit—and my principal—could vanish in an instant.
Logic tells me to quickly close half of my SOL position to raise that 0.58% and save myself. But the gambler in me is shouting: What if it surges right after I reduce my position?
