According to Glassnode data, address reuse is associated with about 4.33 million $BTC , or roughly 21.5% of the circulating supply. Including other types of addresses whose public keys have already been exposed brings the total to about 6.26 million.
But don’t be alarmed by the headline: an exposed public key doesn’t mean these $BTC can be stolen right now. There are currently no practical attacks capable of cracking Bitcoin wallets on this scale.
What’s really worth paying attention to is how to strengthen security for $BTC in the future as AI and quantum computing advance, and whether users are careful enough about managing their wallet addresses.
