When you see “Binance delisting,” do you assume holders can no longer sell? Today’s Alpha announcement makes clear that removing tokens from the recommended list and closing the sell channel are not the same thing.
At 16:00 Beijing time on October 9, tokens including SUP, CUDIS, and BLUM were removed from the Alpha recommended list. I counted the official list item by item: 14 tokens in total. The reason given was that, following a recent review, they no longer met Alpha’s standards. But the announcement also explicitly stated that withdrawals and sales would still be supported after removal.
The announcement listed this path for selling: 【Assets】>【Alpha】>Select token>Instant Order>Sell.
However, support for selling doesn’t mean that any quantity can be sold at an ideal price. I reviewed the announcement but didn’t test the order book depth, so I can’t assess slippage.
My take: this removal signals that the tokens failed to meet the screening criteria. Saying they “can no longer be sold” exaggerates the restriction; conversely, using “they can still be sold” as proof that the projects are fine goes beyond what the announcement supports.
