Definition: RSI is calculated using closing prices only. It doesn’t take trading volume into account or reflect intraday price spikes on candlesticks.
A note on interpretation: During a strong uptrend, RSI can stay above 70 for a long time; during a sustained downtrend, it can likewise remain below 30 for quite a while. Overbought or oversold doesn’t mean an immediate reversal is coming.
Don’t change your plan based on a single number, and definitely don’t use borrowed money to test a hunch.
