#solana计划将出块时间缩至200毫秒
🚀 Solana is aiming to cut block times to 200 milliseconds—the speed upgrade is entering its final phase!
Solana is rolling out a major network upgrade, gradually reducing its target block time from 400 milliseconds to 200 milliseconds. $SOL
The mainnet has completed three rounds of adjustments so far:
400ms → 350ms
350ms → 300ms
300ms → 250ms
The final step is 250ms → 200ms, and the mainnet upgrade is scheduled to begin today. The exact timing still depends on network conditions and validator performance.
What does 200 milliseconds mean?
⚡ Up to 5 block production opportunities per second—double the 2.5 per second at the original 400-millisecond interval.
📉 Transaction wait times could decrease, allowing wallets, trading apps, and market makers to get on-chain updates faster.
⚠️ But this does not mean network throughput will immediately double. The protocol will also lower the compute limit per block, so overall theoretical processing capacity will remain roughly the same.
Validators will also face a higher voting frequency and greater network demands. The results of the upgrade will depend on how the mainnet performs in practice.
The core goal of this upgrade is not simply to “double Solana’s TPS,” but to speed up transaction confirmations and on-chain state updates.
The two key metrics to watch next are actual block times and validator skip rates.
