#Solana计划将出块时间缩至200毫秒 To be precise, this reduces the slot time from 400ms to 200ms. It is not simply doubling TPS; rather, it speeds up the “block production cadence” by a factor of two. This is the staged upgrade of SIMD-0525. The final step was originally planned to take effect on mainnet around 2026-10-09 (around Epoch 1053), but the actual timing depends on the on-chain feature gate status.
1️⃣ What is changing specifically
❗Path: 400ms → 350ms → 300ms → 250ms → 200ms, with each step as an independent feature gate, activated at epoch boundaries, with a skip-rate brake mechanism.
❗After reaching 200ms: about 5 slot opportunities per second (previously 2.5).
❗What stays the same: ticks per slot, the 4-slot leader window, and roughly 432,000 slots per epoch.
❗What changes:
1. The continuous ordering-control window for a single leader: 1.6s → 800ms
2. The compute limit for a single block is lowered in sync (about 60M → 30M CU), so throughput per unit time is roughly unchanged; the main benefit is lower latency
3. The blockhash expiration window becomes shorter: about 80s at 400ms, about 50s at 250ms, about 40s at 200ms
2️⃣ Actual impact on users and the ecosystem
1. Regular users: transfers and swap first confirmations become faster, and the wallet feeling of “confirmed” becomes closer to real time.
2. Traders / market makers: on-chain state updates become denser, stale-price arbitrage opportunities are squeezed, and quotes can be tighter; however, sandwich MEV will not necessarily disappear, as it depends on latency competition.
3. Developers:
(1) Stop hardcoding “1 slot = 400ms”; use getBlockTime or have the client read the current slot duration
(2) Offline signing, manual QR-code confirmation, and hardware wallet signing flows are more likely to run into blockhash expiration, so retries are needed
(3) Indexers do not need format changes, but the number of blocks per unit time increases, so ingestion pressure rises
4. Validators:
(1) Voting frequency roughly doubles → voting fees, bandwidth, and CPU pressure all increase
(2) Net costs become harder to bear for small validators, while large validators can recover voting fees more effectively through leader opportunities → this may accelerate stake concentration toward larger nodes
(3) Leader handoff latency takes up a larger proportion (for example, 100ms latency is half of a 200ms slot)$BTC $ETH $SOL
