U.S. President Donald Trump awarded Elon Musk and five other tech leaders the National Medal of Science and Technology at the White House on Thursday. According to Sina Finance, Musk later posted on social media congratulating the other honorees.
At the ceremony, Trump called Musk an industrial titan, an outstanding engineer, and one of the greatest founders in technology history, adding that no one could compare with him. He praised Musk for using his life savings to create SpaceX in 2002 and said the company had freed NASA from dependence on foreign countries, allowing U.S. astronauts to travel into space. Trump also called the billionaire a national treasure and said he was a modern-day Thomas Edison.
Google co-founder Sergey Brin, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, AMD CEO Lisa Su, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, and Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell also received the National Medal of Science from Trump. Musk later posted on X: “Congratulations Sergey, Jensen, Lisa, Michael, and Satya!”
