First, look at the data: US is up 15.5% over 24h and another 5.5% over 1h, but then it flash-crashed 8.4% in just 5 minutes, with volume reaching 9.7 times the average. In plain English, after a sharp rally, someone dumped at higher prices, and a short-term upper wick has already formed.

The key is open interest, which fell 8.6%. Price is up while open interest is down—that’s not new money coming in; it’s old longs closing out and getting out. And with that 5-minute candle down 8.4%, I don’t need to spell out who’s selling. The parent post triggered a long signal based on a 1h + 24h move and a volume spike 0.7 hours ago. The 24h gain reached +22.4% at one point. Now, after a late-stage acceleration, this is a warning that the top may be in. This is an exit signal, not a signal to chase the rally.

The social buzz is more interesting. There are 321 posts and 29 KOLs talking about it on X, while the feed has 73 posts, almost all BSQ template posts. Retail traders’ 24-hour long/short ratio is 2.7, with nearly 60% of positions long and longs adding for seven hours straight. The whale long/short ratio of 1.4 looks bullish, but when retail traders are this unanimously crowded into longs, they’re often just providing a lift for smart money. 0.01628 set a new high, and plenty of people were calling for a breakout at 0.017—then it flash-crashed right in front of you within five minutes.

The plan is simple: don’t chase longs here. If you’re already long, consider taking profits and trimming your position—don’t get greedy for the last bit. If you want to short, wait for a confirmed retest. If price bounces back toward 0.017 but can’t break through and volume fades, you could try a small short, with a stop just above the new high. For a target, first look at the midpoint of this rally from its starting point. If you’re not in a position, it’s best to stay flat and watch—don’t try to catch a falling knife.

Risk reminder: Bounces after a flash crash are often bull traps. Keeping your hands off the keyboard is more important than anything else.
