The overnight link between U.S. stocks and crypto, explained

First, let’s read out the U.S. stock numbers, then decide whether crypto follows.

Numbers first, opinions after.

U.S. Dollar Index 101.98 (5-day -0.18%)
Nasdaq 27,193 (5-day +1.20%, Yahoo)
S&P 7,765 (5-day +1.29%, Yahoo)

My take: VIX is at 15.41, with volatility suppressed. At these levels, U.S. stocks can easily grind higher, but don’t use their gains as a reason to add leverage in crypto. If VIX bounces, leveraged contracts will be the first to get wrecked.

Crypto comparison: BTC 82548 (24h -0.54%), ETH 2498 (-2.99%). ETH is weaker than BTC over 24h (-2.99% vs. -0.54%), and the exchange rate is 0.03026. Funds are concentrating in BTC, so wait and see before chasing altcoins.

What to watch next: There’s just one thing to watch in crypto: can BTC close above its 24h high of 83283? If it can’t, talk of following the rally is just hot air.

My position: Sitting on the sidelines. Prices haven’t picked a direction, and leverage hasn’t paid off. Opening a position now would be working for the exchange.

Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily (5-day change). Missing figures have not been filled in.
Would you dare add to your position at this funding rate?

Additional context: People are discussing “bitcoin OR stock market OR U.S. stocks - Google News.” I’m treating that only as background; the conclusion is still based on the figures in the main text.

These are my personal views; figures are from the sources stated in the main text. This is not an order to trade.
