Apple, Nvidia, and Tesla go onchain: another real-world application for RWA
On October 8, Securitize announced the launch of Securitize Stocks. The initial offering covers 12 U.S. stocks, including Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Tesla. It will initially run on Solana, with trades settled in USDC.
According to the company’s announcement, these tokens are backed 1:1 by the underlying stocks and represent securities interests, while retaining applicable economic benefits and rights. However, holders do not automatically become registered shareholders of the underlying issuers. The product is available only to eligible investors in permitted jurisdictions.
One timing detail is worth clarifying: trading will initially be available during extended hours. 24/7 trading remains a future plan, so it should not be described as already fully implemented.
My take: this shows that asset tokenization is moving from concept to concrete products. However, how growth in onchain U.S. stock trading translates into value accrual for SOL still needs to be validated by real trading volume, user activity, and fee data.
Do you think tokenized U.S. stocks can generate sustained demand, or will they still need time to gain traction?
