Breaking down the futures market: volume, price, levels

For futures, I only look at how crowded the market is—not what people are saying in chat groups.

Check positioning for crowding first, then price.

BTC notional open interest: $7.65 billion, 24h -4.04%
All-account long/short ratio: 1.88
BTC 82,469 (-0.23%), ETH 2,494 (-2.60%).

Price barely moved (-0.23%), yet open interest fell -4.04%. That’s position unwinding, not accumulation. The market hasn’t committed to a direction for the next move yet.

Key levels: upside 83,129, downside 80,985. Keep one-way exposure below 2x account equity. Place stops beyond the structure, not at psychologically appealing round numbers.

One futures outlook: if the 1h candle doesn’t close above 83,283, cancel all breakout orders.
