This sector has been unusually quiet today: 11 of the top 12 protocols contracted over the past 7 days. The three major staking protocols all moved down in sync: Lido fell 9.7%, another dropped 8.5%, and Binance Staked ETH was down 8.5%. Funds are leaving the yield-bearing end in lockstep.

The sole exception was this cross-chain settlement protocol, up 48.98% over 7 days and nearly flat over 1 day, absorbing most of the money withdrawn from staking. The lending leader also fell 5.5%, so lending didn't hold up either. Funds haven't returned to exchanges: the biggest player there was also down 5.3% over 7 days.

In the short term, the on-chain migration story boils down to this: the money hasn't disappeared; it's just no longer sitting in accounts that earn yield. It's all moved to the corridors where settlements happen. Whether LayerZero stabilizes or catches up on the downside depends on whether trading volume in the cross-chain sector can keep pace.
