Deborah Elms, head of trade policy at the Hinrich Foundation, said EU-China trade talks are facing sharp friction over vehicle imports and currency valuations, according to Bloomberg.

She said both sides hold key leverage and competing positions, making it difficult to resolve the trade imbalances.
