Jot it down—when I first started trading contracts, I was especially fond of watching the long/short ratio. If I saw a higher proportion going long, I would follow and open a long position. Turns out I got liquidated by stop-hunts more than once.

Later I figured it out: the long/short ratio tells you what side most people are betting on, but the market often prefers to move in the opposite direction.

These days, the long/short ratio for all accounts on the whole network is 0.85 for $RLC , with more accounts on the short side. I’ll treat it as just a reference.
