A Chainalysis report shows that from Q1 2024 to Q2 2026, the number of unique wallets sending P2P stablecoin transactions from China increased by 43 times. Over the past year, China made 18.1 million self-custodied stablecoin transfers totaling $104.1 billion, with an annual turnover of holdings at about 3.5 times the global average. The report estimates that China’s crypto economy is worth at least $176 billion, while South Korea, at $449.1 billion, becomes the largest crypto economy in East Asia.
