The same day, the same list.

White House disclosed documents show that in August, Trump completed 517 stock transactions, and over eight months in total he exceeded 9,200 transactions. The buy side involved Meta, Microsoft, Google, Apple, Broadcom, and Oracle; the amounts were mostly between $1 million and $5 million. The largest single trade was on August 21, when he bought Meta, in the range of $5 million to $25 million. The sell side included AMD, Dell, Boeing, and Palo Alto Networks.

On the same day, the White House held a summit titled “Science: A New Golden Age,” awarding the National Science Medals and the National Medals of Technology and Innovation. Among the award list’s seven companies—NVIDIA, Tesla, SpaceX, Google, AMD, Dell, and Microsoft—all appeared in the disclosed trading list.

The White House spokesperson said that these accounts are managed by independent third-party institutions; what is being replicated are widely recognized index products such as Schwab 1000. The president himself, his family members, and the group do not participate in stock selection or approvals. The pace of trading in August was slower than in June and July; those two months each saw more than 1,000 trades. At present, there is no public evidence showing any causal link between the medals and the trades.

The timing coincidences mentioned in the disclosure have been repeatedly highlighted. On August 18, the account bought SpaceX priority unsecured notes; two days later, he signed the national space transportation policy. On the day NVIDIA’s trading records were made public in August, Jensen Huang was being awarded the National Science Medal.
