My first 10 operations in demo: winning 7 out of 10 and still ending in the red
I started publicly documenting the validation of my trading system. These are my first 10 trades in a demo account. The goal is to reach 100 logged trades before moving to real funds.
Main observation: 7 out of 10 operations were positive, and the net result ended up close to -1% on the demo account. A single trade (UNI with 20x leverage without double-checking) weighed more than all the gains combined. Without it, the rest was basically in balance.
Lesson: the problem wasn’t the setup—it was the process. With a new asset, I didn’t verify margin or leverage. I also saw that setting the take profit too close can cut trades that still had room to run.
Practical conclusion: I added a mandatory pre-check step to my checklist: x1 leverage and isolated margin confirmed before placing any order.
📊 Rule compliance: 8/10. Assets: ARB, BTC, UNI, ETH. These are 10 operations—too small a sample to draw conclusions.
Note:
📋 In my spreadsheet, I also record the reason for entry, reason for exit, the error detected, and the lesson from each operation. They’re not included in the image, but they’re what helps me improve the most.
OP and OC data correspond to "OP = operation number, OC = closing order"
Tomorrow I’ll post the trades that were already closed from the day. Trades logged: 10/100.
ℹ️ Transparency: I use Binance cashtags in my posts. If any reader trades based on them, the platform could pay me a commission. This is only my personal experience in a demo account; it’s not a recommendation or a signal. Each person is responsible for their own decisions.
