Investment bank TD Cowen updated its price forecast for $BTC on October 8, setting a target of $109,000 by the end of 2026, and $280,000 by 2029.
The long-term annualized expectation given by the report’s digital-asset strategy analyst Lance Vitanza is 20% to 30%. His focus is on institutional behavior. Right now, institutional discussions have moved beyond whether to allocate to $BTC , and are instead turning to which financial instrument to use for that allocation.
This path has had its ups and downs. In June, this investment bank lowered its end-of-year target from $140,000 to around $100,000, and then raised it again four months later.
At the same time, $BTC is currently priced at $81,700, down 2% over the past 24 hours. There is still a significant gap between the target level and the current price, and as of within the year so far, it remains below the starting point.
