Stop looking for itโthe reason for the drop under $BTC isnโt the Federal Reserve. Iโve just gone through the on-chain data from the past 72 hours and found a truth everyone is ignoringโthis move from 87,000 down to 81,000 looks like macro bad news on the surface, but itโs actually a carefully designed liquidity-harvesting scheme.
In these days, four pieces of bad news have been circulating in the market: U.S. Treasury yields breaking above 5.25%, Bitcoin ETF net outflows for six straight weeks, crude oil rallying to $107, and AI stocks being bled dry.
Each of these reasons is valid, but none of them is why the market is down today. Theyโve been around for a long timeโso why are they suddenly exploding all at once at the 87,000 level? Because someone needs them to erupt here.
I pulled the data and found two anomalies. First, near 87,000, long positions suddenly spiked three days before the crash, with lots of retail traders opening longs between 85,000 and 87,000 at 3โ5x leverage. Second, in the 81,000โ82,000 range, whale wallets have been็ฏ็ๅธ็ญน over the past 48 hoursโnet inflow of about 12,000 BTC, nearly $1 billion.
Plainly put: someone manufactured panic at 87,000, forcing you to cut your losses, and then quietly picked up your chips at 81,000. This isnโt a natural market declineโitโs a hunt for liquidity. When long positions are dense enough, the cost of dumping is far lower than the cost of accumulation.
So when will they stop?
Watch three signals: a sharp drop in contract open interest, funding rates flipping from negative to positive, and large stablecoin inflows into exchanges. Currently, open interest is already down 18% from its peak, and negative funding rates are starting to narrow. If large stablecoin inflows show up in the next 48 hours, this harvesting could be nearing its end.
Iโm not telling you to bottom-fishโIโm just translating what the data is saying to you.
When everyone is asking why itโs falling, smart money is asking who is buying.
