Could Artificial Intelligence hack the wallets of $BTC and$ETH ?

The crypto ecosystem has just received a high-level warning. Justin Drake, one of the leading researchers at the Ethereum Foundation, has called on the industry to prepare for a "bunker mode." His message is clear: AI is advancing so quickly in solving complex mathematical problems that it could break the security that protects our crypto wallets in a matter of months, not years.

To understand the risk, you need to look at how current security works. Your wallet has a public key and a private key. Until today, it has been mathematically impossible to deduce the private key from the public one. However, with recent AI models solving mathematical problems in record time, Drake fears these machines could find a "shortcut" to discover private keys using ordinary computers—overtaking the threat posed by quantum computers entirely.

What do experts recommend?
The preventive technical suggestion is that large investors start gradually moving their funds to completely new addresses, making sure that the public key of that new wallet has never interacted with, or recorded transactions on, the blockchain (removing the AI’s starting point to attack).

This is where Vitalik Buterin came in with a dose of calm. Although Ethereum’s creator confirmed that the AI threat to cryptography is real, he issued a crucial warning against panic: rushed migrations are dangerous. Buterin himself admitted that, historically, he has lost more money due to human errors while trying to move funds urgently than from actual hacks.

The technological race has just changed direction. The crypto industry no longer just needs to prepare for the quantum era—it now also has to speed up the development of new cryptographic security to win the battle against AI
