Unbelievable! A 26-year-old young man from China, suspected of hacking into multiple financial institutions in South Korea using AI, was ultimately betrayed by his own Claude Code 😂
Here’s what happened. In late September to early October this year, multiple South Korean financial institutions were hit by major cyberattacks one after another, and large amounts of personal information were leaked. Even South Korean President Lee Jae-myung demanded a full investigation.
According to a rumored security investigation document, the mastermind behind the attacks is allegedly a 26-year-old young man from Guangdong, China.
This guy really has some skills.
Not only does he know how to use DeepSeek, GLM, and Grok, but he can also control Claude Code and AI penetration-testing tools like ARTEX. He even set up two servers to carry out the attacks.
Then came the most absurd part.
He apparently forgot to disable directory listing on his server!
Researchers traced the trail and directly uncovered his Claude Code chat logs, configuration files, and even the process of how he carried out the operations.
Even more abstractly, he had Claude help him write a job application resume, proactively providing personal information like his name, phone number, and school.
The clues suggest he may have an educational background at South China University of Technology, and he’s from Maoming, Guangdong.
Seriously—one moment he’s using AI to attack financial institutions, and the next he’s handing his own identity information to investigators.
This move is too flashy. Thought he was a top-tier “king,” but turns out he’s a bronze player 😂
